Jeannie Johantgen

Where do you begin with Jeannie Johantgen? You do not wait for her to enter a room. She arrives in motion, momentum in tow, often coming straight from a winning bridge table or a spirited Monday book club discussion. She thrives at full throttle. A devoted and competitive bridge player, Jeannie is a familiar and formidable presence on the senior center card circuit from Canyon Lake to Menifee.

And yet, no matter how packed her schedule, she pivots seamlessly into performance mode. Vivacious, confident, and glamorous, she is often the one adding the finishing touches before showtime, a little extra shimmer here, a sweep of glam there, perhaps even a pair of perfectly placed false eyelashes. Need a quick nip and tuck on your dress? She has that covered too, making sure every Choraleer lady feels polished, poised, and radiant.

On stage and off, Jeannie is a force. She brings bold energy and fearless fun to every rehearsal and performance. Her laughter carries across the room, her spirit lifts those around her, and she reminds us that performing is not merely about hitting the right notes but about inhabiting the moment. Glamour and heart walk hand in hand with Jeannie, and both shine brightly.

Behind the scenes, she carries a very demanding role on the board as Social Secretary. She is responsible for calling in all Choraleer “outside-the-bubble” members for weekly rehearsals, no small task considering the tight gate security measures. For most, it would be a logistical headache. Jeannie handles it with efficiency and grace. She also coordinates all call-ins for concert guests, sends text reminders to every Choraleer about rehearsals, performance details, and even the after-party soirée. The list truly goes on and on.

If you are wondering how she could possibly top her recent performances, the answer is simple. She is already polishing her dance shoes and practicing daily. Stay tuned for what promises to be another show-stopping moment.

Her commitment to community reaches far beyond the choir risers. Jeannie was honored as Deckhand of the Month by Canyon Lake Yacht Club Commodore Rob Mora in recognition of her many contributions to their club. Each Halloween morning, she joins one of Canyon Lake’s most cherished traditions, paddling across the lake in costume alongside fellow witches and warlocks to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer support. With decorated boats, festive docks, and donations benefiting the Canyon Lake Bosom Buddies, she shows up in full character and full heart.

Whether commanding the stage, stepping onto the dock, or claiming a winning hand at the card table, Jeannie brings enthusiasm, generosity, and unmistakable flair to everything she touches.
